1-Minute Video Story: Hiline & Templeton Trails

There was a bit more hike-a-bike on this route, but I was rewarded with some fantastic views!

I started at the Crescent Moon Picnic Area, and hopped on the Red Rock Crossing spur over to Templeton east.

Even Templeton’s downhill sections were rocky, and since breaking my collarbone back in June 2017, I’m much more conscious of going over my bars. Therefore, I’m often less willing to ride sketchy section, versus putting aside my ego and walking.

I usually ride in remote areas riding alone, so the extra precaution might be more warranted.

I exited after a little less than 35 miles onto short sections of Templeton Trail and Cathedral Rock Big Loop, while winding my way over to Hiline, which I rode east for a little more than three miles.

In total, the ride was about 10 miles, and took me three hours (including lots of stopping to enjoy the views). Highly recommended — just be ready for lots of rocky tech-stuff!
